MIKEY’S STORY
Explore Mikey’s journey from Karting to GT4 Champion.
THE EARLY DAYS
Mikey started out as a kart driver, before graduating to cars and competing with R Racing in the Ginetta Junior Championship - before most recently launching his GT4 racing debut in Estoril earlier this year with Aston Martin Partner Team, Forsetti Motorsport.
His racing career started at age 9 when he sat in a Go-Kart for the very first time. Mikey started by attending a couple of karting birthday parties and doing a couple of corporate events in hire karts. After showing an interest in karting he has been taken to a professional circuit and that’s where the passion was born - and maybe a Star too.
Father and son’s mutual admiration for loud and powerful cars grew into the same passion - motorsport.
Because of his late start, compared to his competitors, he needed to learn fast - and so he did. In a short period of time, Mikey proved that behind this passion is a hidden talent and even though he started a bit later he was catching up fast. Driving became his second nature and in no time, he was faster, smoother, and he was the one looking over his shoulder.
His love for motorsport grew very strong in the past few years when he mastered his skills in kart racing on a National and International level. The transition from karts to cars was a natural step on the motorsport ladder.
FROM KARTS TO CARS
In 2022 Mikey moved from Karting to Cars, making his Ginetta Junior Championship debut with Preptech UK where he entered the final two rounds of the 2022 season, before making the switch to R Racing where he competed for the entirety of the 2023 season, making multiple visits to the podium, securing 4th place in the drivers standings.
A GT4 CHAMPION ON DEBUT
In early 2024, Mikey secured the title alongside teammate Jamie Day to win the GT4 Winter Series, securing his first GT4 championship title - making for the perfect introduction to his GT racing career. Shortly following the success competing in the series which was organised by Gedlich Racing, and saw drivers from across Europe compete at some of Spain & Portugal’s best circuits, Mikey announced that he will be competing in the British GT and GT Cup Championships with Forsetti where presently he is leading both the drivers and teams championships in both categories.
