Victory At Oulton Park in British GT Debut!
After months of testing it was finally time for the team to head to Oulton Park for the opening round of the British GT Championship. After weeks of pre-season testing, and being fresh off the back of a stunning GT4 Winter Series Championship Title Win only the week before, Mikey and the team were feeling optimistic about launching their British GT campaign in the all new Aston Martin Vantage GT4 Evo’s.
The weekend started off with a bang, following a strong performance in qualifying on Saturday morning, Mikey & Jamie secured Pole Position for Race One, and an 8th place start for Race Two.
As the lights went Green on the first sprint race of the weekend, the weather sort to spice things up with a heavy downpour, adding to the already wet conditions - which in turn delivered its fair share of chaos throughout the field. Managing to thankfully stay out of trouble, both Mikey and Jamie were able to bring the #7 Car home in one piece, securing the overall win and kicking off their British GT campaign with style.
In the second outing of the weekend, with bluer skies and a drying track and a sizeable amount of time under the safety car, progress up the field was somewhat limited, but nonetheless, the #7 Car crossed the finish line P1 in class and P3 overall adding to the teams impressive haul of trophies (and points!) Up next! The season highlight of the Silverstone 500. The first 3-hour endurance race of the Season.
