A Tough Weekend At Donington Park

After an exciting finish at Silverstone, the team was ready to take on another 3-hour endurance race. Appointed with a similar Balance of Performance (BoP) as the last round, we had a solid understanding of what was ahead. During qualifying, the #7 car secured a P4 in the Silver-Silver Class and a respectable P5 overall. Not as straightforward as Round One, but still promising.

Race Day brought unpredictable weather that kept everyone guessing. The big question was, should we go with slicks or wets? At first, the dry, warm conditions made slicks the obvious choice. But as the countdown to Green began, the skies opened up, pouring down rain just as the race was about to start. The sudden downpour led to an aborted start, allowing teams to switch to wet tires just in time. After a Safety Car-led start, the rain eased up, but the unpredictable conditions were not over.

As the first pit stops commenced, Jamie passed the wheel to Mikey, hoping the skies would stay clear. However, the rain returned, throwing yet another curveball into the race strategy. Despite multiple pit stops, driver swaps, and a few penalties, the #7 car battled through and crossed the line P5 in class - a finish that secured valuable points for the championship.

Next up, we’re heading to the iconic Spa-Francorchamps for Round Four, with the halfway mark of the season now just around the corner.
