A Weekend To Forget At Donington

The championship returns to Donington Park for the penultimate race weekend of the 2024 season!

The last race weekend here earlier in the year brought relentless rain, and unfortunately, the weather this time around wasn’t looking any more promising. However, Mikey delivered an impressive performance during qualifying, securing pole position on the front row.

As the race began, despite a number of cars jostling for position, the #7 car driven by Jamie Day managed to charge its away into the distance, keeping out of trouble and making the most of the Aston Martin’s unique wet weather advantage. However, things took a turn during the pit stop, shifting the teams fortunes and making a meaningful challenge for front running positions almost impossible. After an unnecessarily long stop, which impacted their race strategy, the boys dropped a succession of positions. To make matters worse, they suffered damage from contact with a GT3 car, further complicating their efforts to climb back into contention.

As a result, the team was unable to secure a podium finish, leaving them with mixed feelings heading into the final round of the season. Now, the championship will now be decided at the last race, adding extra pressure to the finale.
